Wax: CocoSoy EC-26
FO: Floral Scent/Warm Amber scent
Wick: Wood Crackling .03/.75 XL
Jar: Clear Straight 3 1/8D x 3H
Findings:
2/20/2024. 1 week cure. Top is amazing and smooth. The cold throw isn't as strong as the 464 wax.
11:28am. It was lit for about an hour and had a full melt pool already. The wick is extremely too big and smelled like it was burning. I could see some flame and ash flying off. Flame is WAY too high! No hot throw passed 5 ft. Blew out.
TOO MUCH DANGER> SWITCHING TO SMALLER WOOD WICK AFTER MELTED WAX COOLS.
2/23/2024.
9:15 pm. I changed the wick to 25% smaller wick from Hobby Lobby. There was an ac draft and no background smells. The flame was perfect this time. At 10:19, the meltpool was 3/4 of a way and no hot throw yet. Maybe I should wick down some more.
2/24/2024.
8:20 am. I started in the kitchen with no food smells and a slight AC draft. There was a full melt pool and barely any scent throw.
Results:
This candle is a FAIL. The fragrance might be too subtle originally and with the combination of the different wicks, the experiment factors were changed. The only consistent factor was the EC-26 wax which I don't like very much. I might change to the coconut apricot instead as the soy presents a few problems.
